After watching Fear Factor I have been pondering myself a question. Where have we gone? Is this that kind of Freedom our Founding fathers have dreamed of and millions have surrendered their lives for? Why do „heroes“of our time get paid 50 grand for being the fastest eater of butterflies or other insects?
Saint Thomas once said: „We dominate animals¸ therefore we can eat them.“ (See ja, vegans.) Really? Back to Middle ages? No. Eating meat increases a number of figures we love to keep watching – e.g. weighted ibs, lowered fat transfered into muscles. Why the hell do we eat insects? Have we lost our dignity? Have we ever had one? What are we trying to prove ourselves? That we are man-enough to eat X live animals in Y time limit? No, I am not Al Gore fan or animal-right saver. Just tackle this topic – what/who else would we eat next time? Dogs? No, they are friends of ours. Who sets the line of eating/not-to-touch beings?
Seriously, who touches your dog? Would you kill him? Remember, how everybody from the N.Y. laughed at communism adverts? Frankly, that is how I feel when I watch Fear Factor. I know, just commercial. Just an icing on the cake. Nope? What our pop-culture is then?
